I’m a fan of ‘Miles on It’ by Kane Brown ft. Marshmello. It’s on my running playlist and on one run, the song came on while I was running when a particularly smelly car passed by. I thought of an EV-themed parody version of the song and sending it to SNL. Now, with AI generating the cover, I was able to pull off the cover background with my lyrics, including the double-entendre. 😉
Generating#
I first tried generating a similar song with the song generator I have used before, Ace Step Audio 1.5, but it just wasn’t finding the right balance of country/EDM. There were some crazy “remixes” that were not to my tastes…
I moved from Ace to YuE with a cover workflow. By sampling the original song, it was able to generate the new song with my lyrics. The first generation was very impressive but it required a bit more work of refining the lyrics to get the syllables to line up properly or it would go completely off the rails. The published version has its imperfections but was an improvement in syncing up after the first verse.
